We are immensely proud to announce that MIKO quince brandy won a gold medal and 95 points at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) 2026, one of the world's most respected and demanding international competitions for wine and spirits!
For us, this recognition represents much more than a medal. It confirms that quince brandy produced in Serbia can compete on equal terms with the finest fruit distillates from around the world, and that its quality is recognized by the most experienced international experts.
Why Is the IWSC Recognition Important?
For more than five decades, IWSC has brought together leading sensory judges, master blenders, distillers and industry experts who evaluate products according to strict criteria of quality, balance, complexity and authenticity. That is precisely why winning 95 points and a gold medal is an exceptional recognition for any distillery.
This is also MIKO quince brandy's first international gold medal, and an important moment in the development of our distillery. We are especially pleased that the recognition comes only a few months after our brandies entered the market.
Quince Brandy as a World-Class Distillate
Behind this award lies a long journey that begins well before distillation. Everything starts in our orchard in the Aleksandrovac Župa region, where we grow more than 21,136 quince trees on our own estate. After careful harvesting, the fruit undergoes controlled fermentation and precise distillation in a German Kothe distillation column, with the aim of preserving the authentic aromas and essence of the fruit.
We believe outstanding quince brandy does not happen by chance. It is the result of carefully selected fruit, modern technology, expert knowledge and time devoted to every stage of production — from orchard to bottle.
This international award follows the gold medal won at the Belgrade Winner 2026 competition, giving us additional confirmation that the quality of our White Quince is recognized both in Serbia and on the international stage.
